Grandparents, ICPC and timeframe questions - Adoption.com Forums

FS's Mom is on the RU path, but the father's parents want to have him. CW said "to be our foster parents" so I assume that's kinship fostering. However, grandparents live in a different state. The ICPC paperwork has been turned in to our state's (NYS) office and our next court date is Oct 29th.

The therapist we work with for our two FD said that if mom has rights still, which she does, she can say she doesn't want the baby to move back to FL. This makes sense to me, especially after I heard that the parents aren't really getting along right now. I can't imagine being on an RU path and shipping my baby off to another state. There are also two other half-siblings. One is really concerned about her other two...where they are living etc and about seeing them.

CW said we'll see what the judge says, but "I'm not really sure about cases like these" and that the judge will decide about transition or if he goes.

Does anyone know how long kinship ICPC paperwork takes? He's only been in our care for just under 2 weeks, but I hate that this kids is getting shuffled every which way. We are his second home in 4 months.
